having a pistol at your head..finger on the trigger...would do what told? would you be scared?
Well, that is what it is like for Todd's work/job..
would it distract u, to have gun at head?
why? cos every day, tehre are thousand nuclear war heads pointed at us, so, he is building defense systems...
so at context why should worry about the lil trivial things?Comments:Add a comment:

Having a great time here in Lexington, KY for fall break. The temps have broke as well at home and here in KY it is in the 60's and just wonderful to be out of the tremendous southern heat.
Had a wonderful time at the international horse park and museum. yesterday.
Today at the Keeneland Race track was great too. we won and had fun as well.
Had a lil episode w/daddy and his not trusting or believing me w/directions..lol..but turned out all ok.
Watched shrek the third in suite tonite and just tucked everyone in bed.
UK won in 3rd OT against LSU and that was a huge game for here and many fans about.
I did get to see last 3sec of UGA game and they won w/a 37foot field goal...gooo dawgs..
Steelers aren't playing this week tho.
well everyone is just tucked into beds and seems kc and daddy are out snoring and zee is signing to self..
today was a better, less stressful or whiney day for Konor...that is always a good thing..

It is finally going to start to feel more like fall across the Tennessee Valley! A cold front is pushing through the area and will bring some major changes to our overall weather pattern. A few showers and thunderstorms will be possible early tonight, but rain chances should end by midnight as much drier air builds in behind the front. Temperatures will dip into the 50s tonight under mostly clear skies. Wednesday will be a mostly sunny and dry day with highs around 80. We are under a Fire Weather Watch on Wednesday from 11am until 6pm. So any outdoor burning is greatly discouraged. You will really start to notice the much cooler air Wednesday night as temperatures plunge into the 40s under clear skies. The weather will remain pleasant and dry Thursday through Saturday with highs in the 70s and lows in the 40s and 50s. Slightly warmer conditions return for Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday with highs in the 80s and lows in the 50s. The weather will continue to be dry during this period as well.
Have a wonderful night!

You might want to seek an Occupational therapy evaluation specifically for sensory integration. You can check out a book, "the out-of -sync child " and see if that fits anything for you. sounds like he may have some sensory issues since you mentioned the clothing issues and having to have everything "just so" or maybe an obsessive-compulsive dx?

I've been rattling my brain
Ok, just got interrupted by wailing/screaming from 3rd floor. Sounds that would normally make me think he was hurt or in pain. Here, Konor was sitting on floor, mad that he spilled his cup of cereal and couldn't pick it up w/o me. When I said it was ok, he cried, "nooo its NOT ok! "
For the last year he has thrown these 'mega' fits where he will get soo worked up over the tiniest things. Those things include the way a toy is positioned, the way his shoes are on, tags in shirts, won't wear short alls anymore, won't eat when foods are touching, has to have a certain amount of i love yous and hugs at bed and must have his certain pillow and woobbie.
There are just things that drive me mad! Things I never noticed w/1st child or 3rd child. He freaks, i mean freaks out soo easily..not your typical 2-3yo tantrum either.
So, been researching autism and genius as his dad and 1/2 sister were both diagnosed genius. autism seems out. but adhd, and the 'lists' I've been looking at seem like him. the NONSTOP talking! the interacting only w/kids older than him. Trying to do work that is for older kids (at montessori school) they told me this and how he gets frustrated then and refuses to do age appropriate work.
My husband keeps saying he is just a boy, and we're not used to boys(two girls frm previous marriage)
But I keep telling him, ugh, there HAS to be 'something'
dh is saying it took YEARS b4 he was diagnosed as gifted/talented...
There is just something that is bothering me with him and wondering if I should take him to be evaluated.
He is super sensitive to emotions, surroundings, just every thing.
we have to "Moma, say 1,2,3,4" meaning wants me to help him breathe, count to 10
ugh, help/advise please

OH, wanted to add that Konor has quit taking naps at 20mos...and read that 'needing' less sleep could go either way. And his constant moving.. when we do 'quiet time' he still has to move his legs like having restless leg syndrome... he can't be still.

Alot of the stuff he does sounds like my 3 boys (and 4th girl). Except they weren't huge tantrum throwers, like you're describing. Does he get attention (good), like hugs or cuddled, when he gets THAT upset? I'm wondering if he knows it's getting him attention? Just a thought, as I'm not around him. Have you asked his teacher (s) what they think? They might could give you some good advice, insight, or tips.
Has he been this way since he was born? Or did it start recently?

It is difficult to detect before age 5 or 6. There are exceptions but generally speaking in terms of ADHD diagnosis alone caution is used before kindergarten or first grade when children are expected to sit for longer periods of time concentrating on specific, mindful tasks. The evaluations are generally based on observations from parents and other care-givers, teachers and the doctors during visits or observations during therapy appointments. You can make a log of your concerns, how often you are seeing those behaviors, any connection to triggers and other things that have you concerned then take that to your doctor for further recommendation. I would imagine at his age a doctor may want to begin with a therapist to see if there are some behavioral changes that can be made.
We knew from when DS was very young, about 2, that he was "different"--perpetual motion was one of those *signs* along with a lot of other things that just seemed off compared to age-appropriate things.

I don't think it's an attention getting thing, no. He gets random hugs and I love yous thru out the day and when he does fits, I don't always succumb and just hold him. sometimes I'm just angry and put him in time outs until he calms down. He is a very funny kid..and does want to make everyone laugh, but there is just 'something' since he was tiny that I've noticed and I guess I am having a hard time describing them correctly.
I guess I should 'log' them and see how things go over the nxt months. Maybe he is just a high needs boy?
Maybe he's smarter than norm or maybe he is just normal....
still...there are times where I feel..ahhh ... boy just be quiet/still!Comments:Add a comment:
