Well, it's still stanking hot, even after dinner, yuk, and we all got bit up... I long for fall!
Zily tried the sippy cup for 1st time today, once she realized there was some watered dwn juice in there, she went to town, but still not so good holding it yet.

I had to write about Konor this am before I forgot. It is soo cute, but so sad to see how much of a big boy he is becoming.
He woke before Zily, so I had him in bed w/me...and he was looking at flower on pillow case, using this pincer grip, trying to pick it up. I said, "flower" and he bent over to smell/sniff it! too funny he remembers..It must be a month since I've had fresh flowers in the house!
Then Zily wakes..and he gets into 'big brother mode' Climbing down off bed, and running across hall. reaching for her doorknob, opens and says, "oh..illy, don't ky!" and is trying to climb up her crib. I put the rail down so he can and she just BEAMS w/delight to see her big brother 1st thing in the morning!
So, I'm taking her downstairs, and he doesn't want to come.. I get her put down, turn around and her comes big boy, down the steps holding onto the wall instead of coming down backwards!.. He made it..So proud of himself too!!
man, I love that squirt!Comments:Add a comment:

Well, sadly.. Todd may now be staying away even later. :(
He is drifter further out to sea and is currently a 2 day trip from shore..on a seperate boat w/beds/etc..
Now he says next Friday, but that is just to shore/hotel..so who knows when he'll be home.
Looks like he'll be missing my friends kids bday(ky's 1st friend) party.. :(
He's not even gonna recognize the kids! Zilya's hair is growing back in..and almost an auburn looking color like Sarah's 'natural' color.. or a light-ish brown/dark blond.
And I'm sure she is growning like a weed. She goes for her 6mo shots sometime this month..already getting into 6-9mo clothes.
Konor, is OFFICIALLY off the PACI!! :)!!!!
And has 4 teeth on bottom now, totally in..and one upper molar.
He is too cute w/his new words/sentences...
"uh-oh..baby...don't ky (cry)"
"mmmm yummy sillwee fench fy" referring to arby's curly fries..took him a moment to try them different looking ones..ha!

tonite i learned that my step dd's friend passed away, on his 17th bday...
I'll post his pic on here soon, but for now, I wrote this song: which is hard to "hear" unless you're in my head...
:All I know is what I know…
Words can not tell thoughts I see
For if you look into my eyes
I can see the tears you cry
I do not why you left
The reasons why,
You hold inside…
For I can see those tears you cry
But words don’t say
Why you went away….
For you’re not here
Anyway…
I think of you
All these days…
My thoughts of you
Won’t gooo away…
Why oh why …oh why?
Is all I wanna know…
But you’re not here
To tell me soo
But please oh please…
Know we love you soo
.You’re too young…
and left all behind…
those who loved you…
will keep you in their minds…
I can only hope
That you’ve found peace
And are happy where
You may be…
Please remember…
We still love you so
And in our hearts
You’ll never go…..
Away………
Oh why, why..did you go?
Is all I wanna know
But ur not here to tell me so..
But please oh please
We all love you soooo…

This is now day 3 for Konor w/o his paci! :) I was so tired of his face, upper lip looking like hell. it is finally getting better. Konor only took the paci for naps/bed/crib time. so we tried a few naps, and he did well, but when I came in to get him, he had thrown everything out of his crib, in an obvious search for one!
He did ok last nite too, and is currently napping w/his pillows instead of the retched pacifier!!!Comments:Add a comment:

Fires burn along river; thousands wait to leave!
Evacuees still waiting at convention center, hospitals
Saturday, September 3, 2005; Posted: 12:07 p.m. EDT (16:07 GMT)
Lt. Gen. Russell Honore is taking charge (5:22)
The New Orleans paper predicted this would happen (3:30)
The military arrives (2:28)
NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana (CNN) -- While thousands of people waited to be evacuated from the squalor of flood-stricken New Orleans, two major fires raged along the waterfront on Saturday.
Without water, firefighters were helpless. They were forced to abandon efforts to fight a blaze that threatened to consume an upscale riverfront mall, where looters had been seen earlier.
Fifty-foot flames also engulfed an industrial district along the Mississippi River and threatened to spread from warehouse to warehouse. (Watch the fires sweep along waterfront)
Black smoke covered the skyline of a city where firefighting resources are stretched thin.
Although much of the city is covered with fouled waters, the hydrants are dry.
Firefighters told CNN the mall fire started about 9:30 a.m. "under suspicious circumstances."
Police watched the Shops at Canal Place building, attached to the Wyndham Hotel, as it burned.
Earlier, a CNN crew saw looters leave the shops carrying filled Gucci and Brooks Brothers bags. (CNN's Bill Schneider on the question: Who's in control?
In a rare live radio address Saturday, President Bush said more than 7,000 additional troops will be sent over the next 24 to 72 hours to areas affected by Hurricane Katrina.
"Where our response is not working, we will make it right," he said.
On Friday, a bus carrying 50 evacuees overturned north of Lafayette, Louisiana, killing a man and injuring 12 people, a Louisiana State Police spokesman said.
Thousands of people remained Saturday at the Superdome and Ernest Morial Convention Center in New Orleans after a day that saw one of the largest evacuations in U.S. history.
As many as 5,000 people remained in the Superdome, according to the Texas National Guard, and about 2,000 people remained at the convention center. (See the squalid refugee-camp conditions at the center)
Hospital evacuated
At New Orleans' Louis Armstrong International Airport on Saturday, babies slept on flattened cardboard boxes as hundreds of evacuees waited to be airlifted.
The last 200 patients, who had waited in primitive conditions, were evacuated from Charity Hospital on Saturday, CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta reported.
The hospital has no power, no water and no food. The bodies of patients who have died had been stored in stairwells because the hospital's morgue is flooded.
Although bodies have been spotted for days throughout the city, New Orleans officials have no death toll, instead focusing on rescuing the living.
Anger at slow response
Many Americans were outraged by what they perceived to be a slow response from the federal government. Some questioned whether race was a factor in treatment of the largely black evacuee population.
For five days, tens of thousands languished inside New Orleans' Superdome, with no food and water. Some died as rampant violence was reported.
"Certainly I think the issue of race as a factor will not go away from this equation," the Rev. Jesse Jackson told CNN on Friday.
"We have great tolerance for black suffering and black marginalization," he added. "And today those who are suffering the most, in fact, in New Orleans certainly are black people."
Jackson, who was in New Orleans helping with the relief effort, described appalling conditions: "Today I saw 5,000 African-Americans on the I-10 causeway desperate, perishing, dehydrated, babies dying," he said. "It looked like Africans in the hull of a slave ship. It was so ugly and so obvious."
Earlier Friday, members of the Congressional Black Caucus criticized the pace of relief efforts, saying response was slow because those most affected are poor. (Full story)
At an NBC benefit for hurricane victims, rapper Kanye West said, "George Bush doesn't care about black people."
Astrodome bursting with people
About 15,000 people have been evacuated to Houston's Astrodome, which officials say is filled to capacity. Two other shelters were opened nearby that can hold an estimated 26,000 people. (Watch a happy reunion at the Astrodome)
President Bush visited Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana on Friday, and then returned to Washington and signed a $10.5 billion disaster relief bill. The amount includes $10 billion in supplemental funds for the Federal Emergency Management Agency and $500 million for the Pentagon for its hurricane relief work. (Full story)
After first calling relief efforts "not acceptable" the president later said he was satisfied with them. (Watch Bush news briefing -- 2:32)
In his radio address on Saturday, the president acknowledged that people are "not getting the help they need, especially in New Orleans -- and that is unacceptable."
Officials involved in relief efforts are dealing with a multitude of issues:
# Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport has processed 40,000 people, with priority given to the sick and injured, one official said. (Full story)
# The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers estimated Friday that it will take 36 to 80 days to drain the city. (Full story)
# Texas officials said nearly 154,000 evacuees have arrived there.
# Mississippi's Gov. Haley Barbour said the number of confirmed deaths in the state stands at 147, although he expects that to increase.
Lt. Gen. Russel Honore, who is coordinating military efforts, said getting food and water to the people at the convention center was difficult. "If you ever have 20,000 people come to supper, you know what I'm talking about," the three-star general said. "If it was easy, it would have been done already." (Honore profile)
New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin was somewhat mollified after harshly criticizing the lack of federal government's response to the crisis Thursday night. He praised President Bush after they toured the region Friday with Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blanco.
(See the mayor's order to stop the talking and send soldiers to help -- 1:00)
The president was "very serious" and "very engaging" during his time in New Orleans, Nagin said. "He was brutally honest. He wanted to know the truth."
On Friday the president also took an aerial tour of storm damage in Alabama and walked through a neighborhood in Biloxi, Mississippi, to inspect storm damage. (Full story)
Nine stockpiles of fire-and-rescue equipment strategically placed around the country to be used in the event of a catastrophe still have not been pressed into service in New Orleans, five days after Hurricane Katrina, CNN has learned.

coming from someone who lost lots of my earthly possessions, sentimental things and my own child... stuff is just stuff.. a house is just a house...
This hits home for us as well. I have a friend in Mobile that is safe thankfully.. but being here is close enough.. being scared b/c someone wanted to steal my gas this am! insane!
our hospital here is now taking in the sick and dying..
Watching floating bodies on tv is too much for me anymore.
I'm totally saddened by the USA right now... Looters and people stealing gas?
Why aren't we using our resources...ahem TX?
One news report just indicated that the size of the devastation
zone equals that of Britain... there is something like 90,000 square
miles of sheer devastation.
This is one of the largest natural disasters to strike a single
country ever. In some ways it equals if not surpasses the tsunami
devastation in a more condensed form. Whole towns and communities
have been wiped off the map.
The one "good" thing is that a mandatory evacuation order was
given, so those who could evacuate and chose to do so did evacuate,
saving countless lives. Unlike the tsunami, there was ample warning.
The news media is focusing in on a great deal of suffering, but
this does not tell the full story.
Disaster preparedness experts have warned for YEARS that a
hurricane striking New Orleans would be one of the worst case
disaster scenarios possible in this country. Experts have ALSO told
all of us, time and time again, that we must each be prepared to be
on our own, totally independent, for at least 72 hours following a
major disaster. This means that each and every American is SUPPOSED
to be able to function independently, with first aid, CPR, food,
clothing, prescription medications, etc. for up to 72 hours, even
longer.
If anything is a wake-up call for all of us in terms of personal
disaster preparedness, Hurricane Katrina is a tremendous warning and
reminder.
In California, Los Angeles especially, authorities stress this ~
disaster preparedness and being able to function independently for
72 hours minimum ~ but even still, something like only 20% of all
people in this country even have a flashlight let alone a proper
disaster kit.
Anyway, the water scenes, the scenes of people who have drowned and died in the aftermath, the shock and trauma, the grief, sense of despair, this is all VERY close to home for me!Comments:Add a comment:
