Ok, took Konor for his 18mo ck up today...You know how they make you fill out those forms and circle yes untill you get tree no's..? well, I had to go on to another page, lol..
When the dr came in konor shook his hand, and then proceded to show and tell him 'circle' on the chairs..LOL... He says developmently he's more like a 2-2.5 yr old! He knows the older girls(go ther too) and says he Konor is likely to be highly intelligent as well, and we will keep tabs on him and have him evaluated @ age 4.
ok, he's still short, 10/%tile, so we talked about him starting gymnastics and he thinks that is a great idea! esp since we know he won't be a basketball player, lol....
he is 30 3/4" (didn't grow from 12-15mos tho) 24lbs 8oz...
ON to Zilya...she is like a 6mo old developmentally, tho hasn't rolled but was soo close while there. Everything's good w/her...15lbs 10oz and 24 3/4"Comments:Add a comment:

Pregnant Woman Murdered, Killer at Large
ewsChannel 19's Carson Clark Reports,
23-year-old Brandy Parker is dead after being shot in the head with a shotgun. Albertville police say she was eight months pregnant, and the circumstances around the murder aren't clear.
Charles Windsor and his wife heard something around 1:30 Wednesday morning. He went outside and saw that a truck had gone through his yard and into a neighbor's yard. He told his wife to call 911.
Windsor and an Albertville officer went up to the truck. Windsor says from the amount of blood, he knew it wasn't just a wreck.
Police believe Parker was shot in the head at point blank range. Where the shooting happened isn't clear. Police want to know how after being shot in the head with a shotgun, someone could then get in a vehicle and drive.
No arrests have been made in the case.Comments:Add a comment:

Well, today starts out a little ok.. Aahh, what a wonderful, comfortable king size bed we slept on! I slept so well, but woke kinda paniced @ 8am... Even the babies were still asleep..
It starts out warm and just gets hotter. Again, leaving Columbus, but now heading south to home in AL.
Taking about an hour, we load back up. Kind of sobering, knowing running extremely low on cash.
Stop a few times for the usual, gas, stretch, pee, etc... the girls get along a lil better.
Somewhere in southern tn, northern al, the transmission goes out. End up on 565, the homestretch...w/hazard flashers on going 50 where the speed limit ins 70, and most go 80. after some cursing, kids crying, dog chasing a stupid fly that caught a ride w/us... todd does make us laugh...
so, like we figured, something went wrong. after changing belt, new tires, new radiator, brakes, etc , etc... now this..and the van payment was due friday.
this trip will end up costing us several thousand dollars. I swore last yr not to do it again. and i swear it again.
6people and a dog going 2thousand miles is shit.
I didn't get to see people I wanted, but hey few rarely visit me anymore anyway. What am i to say/do? Can't please everyone.
not that i didn't want to...but it is just way too hard, and unless you've done it the way we do..it's hard to understand..
I had meat tonite. red meat. man, knew i was missing something. though the food was all good...
even though it is stinking hot, and now i have no van, blah, blah...I'm actually just glad to be back home...for awhile anyway...Comments:Add a comment:

well, I am home, just barely.... After finally getting the kids to bed, trying 3 times to get stupid laptop out of van and banging my head so that it knocked me backwards....my dad calls back, and hangs up on me b/c he doesn't want to hear it...could have been nicer to just say, "ok, call me when things settle down." nope...so, here I am, upset again. Welcome freaking home!
All in all the trip went ok..I guess you could say that.. I'll update later w/my journal entries and loads of photos me, and rachel and sarah took, and I hope to get some from Becky and Jess too.Comments:Add a comment:

get up, get packing....!
Our goal is to make Erie, so the kids can see one of the Great Lakes. But the rain has become treacherous...I say, screw it,but todd goes on....
we're trying to get to presque isle. weaving thru town...marina...
finally finding it, memories of childhood flash back, and slowly the rain stops and the clouds clear, breaking out the blue sky and warm sun...
last nite on news we hear reports of beaches being closed due to high amounts of bacteria/e coli... ok, so we aren't going in...no biggy...
we picnic on our utz potato chips...and the beach is open.. ok, i will just take konor down to get his feet wet. that was fun...he was cute!
We stay about 2hrs...stop and got another suviniour spoon/bell for konor/zily.
stop at BK...and todd gets mad about stupid drive thru, so we're all pissy and take it out on ea other....konor sleeps thru it all, but later wakes and eats all his chicken tenders.
we make it to 270 exit and find a newly renovated red roof inn. really nice, i was impressed how improved it was. again, two rooms...
zilya is all smiles and happy to stretch.. Konor is his usual talkative self...saying 'truck' endlessly... takes a lil convincing to get him to get to bed...
budget is thinning...and no booze to relax on.. we leave the monitor w/girls and walk over to bar and have two long island iced teas. can't smoke indoors apparently in city limits of columbus...
we only stay 45mins...and back to room... I fall asleep a lil b4 todd... and apparently I am sunburned!Comments:Add a comment:

Sarah and her uncle rod went on a 16 or 32 mi bike ride around the pa grand canyon this am. saw some deer, and amish folks..
later todd went out w/rod, bought me a carton of cigs, $12 more than @ home. Couldn't find a nursery that had any trees/bushes to plant in memory of kyla.
so have lunch, kids take naps and leave them w/nanny and we, (todd, his dad, and sarah/rachel) got to a diff nursery.. find a tree/bush.. only $7
Then drives us to another town where we buy out the utz and snyder potato chips! (they don't sell them in the south)
Then drives to an Amish friend to order something to be made. wish I could photograph the lil amish boy.. but that isn't right so, dont.
back into town...stopping at the only fast food joint, getting french fries.....waiting...another annoying drive thru moment...
"have a nice day." Pap/dad says..."another demand." Ha, cracks me...
shows us this several mil house that stopped contstruction on cos Regis' kid is in jail now... ha! we walk around it..nice....girls got some pics.
back home...to the mountain in the meadow.
Konor is up from nap....todd and pap find a place to plant tree. next to aunt alverta's memory bush...
meanwhile i try to unscrew kyla urn pendant..glued shut...
tree is in ground..and i tell todd my plan.. to sprinkle just a tad of her ashes...
then, w/a pair of pliers, I get nervous, it shatters... I have a panic attack.. weird... tunnel vision, can't breathe. not really sure why..
but oddly, I remember to breathe thru nose, out mouth, and calm dwn...
todd is understanding. we pick it up and gather it back in an envelope and go down to tree and scatter some about. both parents come out, and we won't let them in on what is going on, fear of what they will think/say.
todds mom tells me the lady next door had her parents ashes in some bushes and when she moved, she dug them up and moved them with her.
since ky doesn't have a grave, they all can 'visit' her there now...
the sky was beautiful...and the moon too...
leaving tomorrow... I just want to go home.Comments:Add a comment:

another day on the mountain...
rain again...but again, not long... Todd helps Steve w/rock on wall by heater/fireplace thingie. I leave a sleeping baby w/nanny and decide to just drive down into town.
boredom.....cabin fever. Konor comes with. It's pretty hot in town, about 8-10degrees warmer. We find the elem school...playground unfit...so we drive back....not wanting to go inside, I just put in a cd as there is only one radio station...yuk. so, back dwn the mtn we go. meanwhile girls are off riding 4wheeler.
I come off thier drive onto main dirt road, and boom, a momma black bear and 3 or 4 cubs! I never seen a bear in the wild b4. The last time here everyone saw one b ut me. I was actually kinda scared. ok, i was scared. thankfully, she got her cubs back off into the forest.
ended up at bottom of mtn, and pulling into Regis' (Adelphia) property...beautiful.. lake, ducks, swings.. so take konor out and let him run around, swing. Oh, pablo came with me cos he has taken to chasing the 4wheelers and cars back n forth from nanny/paps to becky/steves.
then play in front of house on awesome toddler playground. how am i to know this is private? someone let me go thru, and waved hello... later, every gets a hoot out of it... regis goes back to court in sept i think... town is gonna become a ghost town now...
I wish i had my camera....left it back at house..
I cry a lot again. why???
I think I really miss my internet friends/email, etc.... daily talking to people...something..
Apparently not alone. Rod(pap) says there have been many suicides in the area this yr so far. A man in the past hung self from cabin porch behind them... crazy.
again we watch the moon rise and get fuller...and pap has to close his garage door.....Comments:Add a comment:

Early to bed, early to rise! And Konor is rearing to go!
Rain off n on today, but nothing major. Becky and Steve, Kenny make it down. Stephanies husband, todd's nephew here too.
Kids take 4-wheeler rides. Konor n Kenny play together. We go up to becky's have corn on cob. Konor isn't eating much, but soo active. loving it all.
he is putting together 2 word sentences today now! :)
He must have already learned a few new words!
Pap has nicknamed him "the banana stacker"
the nightly ritual of porch sitting is once again. watching the moon rise..and getting eaten alive by bugs. Soo many more here surprisingly.
Pap has to close his garage........
Watched Hide n Seek...pretty lame really...Comments:Add a comment:

National Water Safety & Remembrance Day!
I am holding Kyla close to my heart today, as always.
Up early and packing the van back up again for another long day on the road. Talked to Todd's dad. Decided since won't be stopping in PGH on way up, to take the route thru Cleveland, Erie, Olean NY and then to Coudersport PA.
We hit lots of rain in NY. But we make it around dinner time. Nanny and Pap are happy to see all of us.
Cell phones don't work up here on the mountain. Have dinner and rest on back porch. I am weary of Konor roaming about. But that leaves me as there really isn't anywhere for him to go. Cousin/neice Jessy, Stephanie and friend come dwn from NY. The nite air was pleasant. So quiet, and calming.
We got the upstairs bedroom w/both kids. They didn't complain too much to get to bed. It was pretty hot up there, no central A/C...
No tv, or internet or cell...aahhh I could get used to this!
The girls sleep on seperate sofas..and the nite is young, but we all call in early.Comments:Add a comment:

Whew, made it to hotel here just outside Columbus, OH. A nice Signature Inn, w/micro/fridge. Dogs allowed, so girls, Sarah/Rachel have Pablo in their own room.
The drive was long. Caught a lil rain. Set up the laptop and watched several movies thru the van speakers. Gas mileage sucked, literally. Konor and Zilya both did OK, but, ya know how that goes, ha, ha.
Konor was a hoot playing in the hotel and riding on the luggage cart. Finally got the babies to sleep, plugged in the monitor and visited nxt door w/the girls.
We had nonsmoking rooms, so I had to go outside. I went out the side exit, by the pool. stared at it for a good long time, and the 3ft fence around it.Finally, to prove something to myself, tho I am not sure what...I easily climbed it. I took off my pants and top and walked into the shallow end in just my panties. Swam across. I DID IT! I submerged myself into the water, a pool...for the 1st time since Kyla died. NOt that great of a victory really. I was dissappointed. IT rained again, and now I had trouble hurrying back over the fence. I vow tomorrow to tell the hotel manager just how easy it was/is to get into that pool... came upstairs, went to bed, and forgot about it. Grabbed Konor who was fussing and let him sleep w/me for a bit..Comments:Add a comment:

well, van is fixed and running great. had a cracked radiator..ouch!!
babies suitcase is packed, as is toys/diapers and most of my stuff. Just washing our comforter now/sheets so we'll have a nice clean bed to come home to.
I really hope the kids do ok. Konor is cutting his molars and having a hard time going to sleep. I'm trying to rid the paci, but gave in last nite. I'm sure he'll need it on the trip, but hope to get him done w/it when we get back.
been putting him on the little potty, and he pees soon after sitting down. Hope to have him go diaper-less too when we get back.
zilya has been a tad more needy and having trouble going dwn for naps. However, she sleeps wonderfully and long now at nite..
looking @ AAA website for discounted rooms in the cinci/columbus OH area to stay tomorrow nite.. not too many. we're gonna need two rooms, so trying to stay on budget.
kinda bummed I won't really be visiting anyone in Pgh this time. Really no time to do both anymore. I wanted to see several of my friends kids and new babies... oh well. maybe when my friend gets married I'll be up again.
got new email addy: missingkyla@gmail.com I'm too scared my pc will crash again and I'll lose everything on Outlook... soo...

Talk to everyone send out emails call them on the phone yell it from the roof tops send it by jet palne if you need to, post it on websites and do what ever it takes.
send an email to Assembly women Nellie Pou from New Jeresey, asking for Harley's Law to be enacted and ask for it to be enacted right now.
My Law I worked so hard for is sitting in her office entitled William's Law it was copied word for word from my website and taken away from my precious baby Harley by a man that claimed he came up with the Idea, granted it is be considered for passing, but it has a better chance at getting passed if it is entitled Harley's Law the world knows that Name and Law better.
Please help and please help as soon as possible you your self know how long I have worked on this and what I have been through to get this passed.
State of New Jersey Assembley Women Nellie Pou email address AswPou@njleg.org
Thank you
Lea Owens
www.mfwsc.com
Here is the email I sent to the assemly women, Nellie Pou
Dear Steven Schaublin and Assembly Women Pou,
I have poured all of my heart, soul, time, and effort. Not to mention the money that I have spent when I did not have the money to spend into attempting to pass Harley's Law. I am grateful for the help I have received from each of you and others and I hope to see this law go into effect. However I was reassured by Steven that it would be called Harley's Law. I see from the documents that I received that it is being called William's Law. If it is passed under the name William's Law then as each state considers a law of this type it will be referred to as William's Law.
I have fought and cried every night for almost 7 years to have Harley's Law passed and it is so close to passing and now it is being renamed. I am the first person to ever attempt to have a law like this passed nationally and it would be appreciated me as well as Harley if his name was remembered nationally.
Harley's Law has been featured over 100 times on television stations, Over a hundred times in Local newspapers across the United States as well as articles in U.S.A. Today and the Washington Post. Harley's Law was also featured on Inside Edition, and the Discovery Channel. Countless websites and A lengthy lecture to over 500 hundred up and coming lifeguards at Perdue University in Indiana. We helped State Represenative Mike Kroger from Dell Rapids, North Dakota, reinforce there current swimming pool laws. Most of the polititions in Washington as well as former President Bill Clinton, Al Gore, and President George W. Bush.
Harley's Law has been a shoulder to cry on for all people that have similar experiences in America and abroad.
In short Harley's Law is more recognizable. Assembly, No 4221 is almost word for word Harley's Law.
Care Enough to Fence, Cover and Alarm your pool.
Sincerely,
Lea Owens

been pretty busy last few days. Had water pump replaced in van, still leaking anti freeze, figure it's the radiatore... figures, just as we're to leave to PA, but better now then on road I suppose? Or maybe if I was 'godly' or prayed...this wouldn't always happen to us b4 a trip. Thinking of postponing, cos $400 and the van already cost over a grand this month just to drive around town! But I guess folks in nc pa are counting on us.. not too sure about even stopping in Cran/pgh are this go round. oh well...
I asked on freecycle for a pack n play for zily to sleep in, as I have one already for konor. lady in scotsboro said she had one, nope.. just drove an hr there for nothing, for a sleeping bag, moron... but turned out a nice country drive on meth mountain.. went to lake guntersville. konor is just now crashed.. refusing to nap in van, should be a fun trip this time,lol...
so todd just ran to get some shrimp/scallops for lunch/dinner....
man, the day got away from us.. wanted to go to yard sale at the church here, cos for a 1/2 hr they had 'freecycle' items.. oh well..
girls will be back tomorrow...wonder what karen said about sarah's cool burgendy hair I dyed! I think it looks cool, but I guess my 'morals' are different.... huh? yeah, that's right, made no sense huh... dark purple hair? hmm must mean we have no morals..whatever...world....
wow, the wind sure was blowing over there... had a memory of john ford as we remembered coming there w/him on occasion...
started walking about an hour/day the last few days.. lost a pound, lol, but yeah i did...
zilya been a lil crabby lately, not sure why, but sleeping excellently. 6:30pm-7-8am.....
Konor got a potty, as did zily..peed a few times (both)

Justin Bryant Remembered
July 5, 2005
Amber Moody Reports
Friends and family are celebrating a Decatur teen's life, after the 16 year old died on Monday.
Justin Bryant suffered a spinal cord injury after diving into a pool last Monday and hitting the bottom.
Rachel Bumpus says, "The calmness and the peace we have about it is a calmness from god. He's in heaven now and in a better place."
Rachel Bumpus explains the peace she has about her boyfriend 16-year-old Justin Bryant dying.
Bumpus knows she and Justin would've spent their lives together.
"We knew that we would be together. We knew we would grow up and have kids and start a family."
Justin Bryant had a lot of friends and they say he wasn't like most teenagers.
Rhett Strough says, "He was always thankful for what he had. And a good friend to you if you were friends with him."
Last Monday night Justin dove into this pool at the corner where the shallow and the deep ends meet.
His best friend Rhett Strough dove in to try to save him.
Rhett Strough says, "It was the worst night of my life. I just see him laying there helpless. I can't hardly go back there."
Laken Laughmiller another close friend to Justin had just left the house where the incident happened when he got the phone call.
Laughmiller says, "My heart started beating really fast. I didn't know what to do. I had to call some folks. Because it just hit me. It was like a dream because you never think it can happen to your friend."
Visitation will be held tomorrow from 6 pm to 8 pm at Autumnwood Baptist Church, followed by a funeral at 2 pm. on Thursday.

AT LEAST SEVEN DROWN
OVER HOLIDAY WEEKEND
ASSOCIATED PRESS July 05, 2005
Email to a friend Voice your opinion
(AP) - Two children in the Houston area were among at least seven drownings over the holiday weekend in Texas.
A boy discovered at the bottom of a pool at an apartment complex in Houston Saturday afternoon was identified Monday as Rickey Attaway, 10. Houston police said the boy and several friends had been swimming when he jumped into deep water to get a football.
Several minutes later, a Houston Police Department news release reported, "a 14-year-old noticed that the boy had not resurfaced. She pulled him to the surface." The child later died at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital.
On Friday, 9-year-old Yaritza Gonzalez drowned while swimming in the San Jacinto River, authorities said.
At Canyon Lake near San Antonio, at least one person drowned and a second person last seen swimming Sunday remained missing Tuesday. Just before Fourth of July fireworks began Monday night rescuers recovered the body of 15-year-old Julian Bocanegra, authorities said.
The day before, a 20-year-old man drowned in Paradise Canyon, an area where there are no lifeguards, according to emergency officials. He has been identified as Juan Ramirez of Mexico. He was staying in San Antonio.
In North Texas, three men drowned in separate swimming and boating accidents in Denton and Dallas counties. The first drowning was reported late Friday at a sand quarry in Denton County. Investigators said several people were floating together on a raft when Javier Robles fell off and disappeared in the water. Rescuers found his body on Saturday, said Denton County Sheriff's Department spokesman Tom Reedy.
Dallas fire department rescue workers and volunteers began searching for a 45-year-old man after he was reported missing at Lake Ray Hubbard on Saturday evening. Witnesses said the man was last seen as he struggled to place his 7- and 14-year-old sons in an inner tube after it overturned.
A boater called authorities Monday after spotting what appeared to be a human body floating in the lake. Medical investigators confirmed that the body is that of the missing boater, but his identity has not been released.
Monday evening, Edwin Padilla, 24, died shortly after divers pulled him from Lewisville Lake, just north of Dallas.

Three Drown in Less Than 24 Hours
Hamburg police say two friends were with a boy at Eighteen Mile Creek on the Hamburg-Evans town line at about 5:20 yesterday when he apparently steeped into deep water and disappeared below the surface.
He was found about 90 minutes later.
He was Erie County’s third drowning victim in less than 24 hours.
A woman in her 30’s, drowned shortly after 3:30 yesterday afternoon in a pool in Amherst.
A man who jumped into the Niagara River off Bird Island Pier Monday evening remained unaccounted for.

sorry to bombard w/all these drownings, however it is that time of yr, until November at least. And this is my 'job' to continue to make people aware. Feel free not to read if it is too depressing for you.

4-year-old drowns in Melbourne
Uncle tried to resuscitate boy
BY DAN GARCIA
FLORIDA TODAY
Safety tips
Never leave a child unsupervised near a pool.
Instruct babysitters about potential hazards to young children in and around swimming pools and the need for constant supervision.
Completely fence the pool.Install self-closing and self-latching gates. Position latches out of reach of young children.
Do not consider young children "drown proof" because they have had swimming lessons; young children should always be watched carefully while swimming.
Do not use flotation devices as a substitute for supervision.
Have a telephone at poolside to avoid having to leave children unattended in or near the pool to answer a telephone elsewhere. Keep emergency numbers at the poolside telephone. -- Consumer ProductsSafety Commission
MELBOURNE - A 4-year-old boy, swimming at his uncle's home, drowned when he slipped out of his life vest and sank to the bottom of the pool Tuesday, police said.
The boy, identified as Sammie Chen, drowned despite his family's efforts to resuscitate him with instructions from a 9-1-1 operator.
Brevard Sheriff's Agent Gary Harrell said the boy was swimming with his 12-year-old brother and his 10-year-old cousin at the home of their uncle, Zhen Weng, at 1091 Rock Springs Drive, when the accident occurred about 8 p.m.
The boy was taken by Brevard Fire-Rescue paramedics to Wuesthoff Hospital in Rockledge, where he was pronounced dead.
Harrell said the boy was visiting his uncle, Zhen Weng, who was identified as the owner of the Peking Buffet restaurants in Melbourne and Satellite Beach.
"The uncle had been with him and went upstairs to change clothes real quickly, and the other boys ran in and said the little boy has slipped out of his life vest and was at the bottom of the pool," Harrell said.
"From all indications, it's an accidental drowning."
The boy's parents were identified as Yong Chen and Qing Weng. Neighbors said the family had moved into the Suntree-area community of Magnolia Springs in May.
Bruce Kwitny, a neighbor, said he had seen the family once since they moved in.
"It's very sad," Kwitny said.
Harrell said the uncle told him it couldn't have been more than "three to five minutes" that he was away from the victim.
"Unfortunately, it takes just moments to drown, especially for a 4-year-old who probably wasn't holding his breath and just went under," Harrell said.
"The uncle said he saw him at the bottom and jumped into the pool and pulled him out."
Harrell said the boy "never responded" to revival efforts.
"Nothing beats adult supervision," he said.

Two Drown in Rappahannock River Over Weekend
Updated: Tuesday, Jul. 5, 2005 - 4:54 AM
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. (AP) - Two men drowned in the Rappahannock River over the holiday weekend, police said Monday.
A northern Virginia man drowned Saturday despite the efforts of two bystanders who pulled him from the water and called for help. On Monday, a 26-year-old Hispanic man drowned while attempting to swim from a small island about 15 yards from shore, Stafford County Sheriff Charles Jett said.
Jett said Michael Edward Clutter of Fairfax was with two others Saturday but was the only one to go into the water. Two canoeists pulled him from the tiver, tried to resuscitate him and called for help. Clutter was declared dead when he arrived at Mary Washington Hospital.
Jett did not release the identity of the man who drowned Monday.
Monday's drowning occurred around 12:45 p.m., when the men went under while trying to swim to shore to his cousin and roommate, Jett said. Rescue divers pulled his body from a 9-foot-deep stretch about an hour later.
Jett said warning signs in both English and Spanish are posted along the river.

2 more Houston youths drown
A third child is fighting for his life at a hospital
Copyright 2005 Houston Chronicle
The drownings of two children over the July 4 holiday weekend brought to 13 the number of known young victims in the Houston area so far this year, records show.
Doctors late Monday were working to prevent a 14th drowning, as an 8-year-old boy fought for his life after being pulled from an apartment complex pool.
The boy was found in a pool at a complex at 301 Benmar, Monday afternoon and taken to an area hospital.
They described the boy's condition as critical.
A boy discovered at the bottom of a pool at an apartment complex in the 14200 block of Kimberley Lane in northwest Houston Saturday afternoon was identified Monday as Rickey Attaway, 10, of the 3200 block of Prudence.
Houston police said the boy and several friends had been swimming when he jumped into deep water to get a football. Several minutes later, an HPD news release reports, "a 14-year-old noticed that the boy had not resurfaced. She pulled him to the surface."
The child was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital, where he later died.
It was the second fatality involving an area youth in recent days. On Friday, 9-year-old Yaritza Gonzalez drowned while swimming in the San Jacinto River near the 1900 block of Pump Road and U.S. 90, authorities said. The girl lived in the 5000 block of Hardy, the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office said.
The Sheriff's Department was called to the scene and the girl's body was found a few hours later, about 9 p.m Friday.---------------------------------------------------------------

Two more children have died after being pulled from backyard swimming pools, authorities said Monday.
They were identified as 9-month-old Ethan Diaz of Scottsdale and 18-month-old Conner Londagin of Phoenix.
Both died during the night after being rushed Sunday to different Phoenix hospitals in extremely critical condition.
Their deaths bring to nine the number of Valley children who have drowned so far this year.
The latest double tragedy again unscores the need for constant adult supervision of children, said Bob Khan, an assistant Phoenix fire chief.
Fire officials aren't entirely sure how Ethan or Conner gained access to the pools.
Ethan was found after a few minutes in a pool at his family's home in the 13600 block of North 90th Place, said Juliet Falevitch, a Scottsdale Fire Department spokeswoman. The pool was fenced, but the fence had a section missing.
Conner was in the water for two to five minues in a gated pool at his family's home in the 4000 block of East Apollo Road, Phoenix officials said.
So far this year, there have been three child drownings in Phoenix, two in Mesa, and one each in Peoria, Tempe, Scottsdale and an unincorporated area in the East Valley.
Last year, 19 Valley children died in water incidents.
Numbers are compiled by the Children's Safety Zone, an Internet resource that has the support of Valley firefighters and the Drowning Prevention Coalition of Central Arizona.

Tucson teen dies in Patagonia Lake
http://www.tucsoncitizen.com/index.php?page=local&story_id=070405a2_drowning
DAVID L. TEIBEL
Tucson Citizen
A 15-year-old Tucson boy drowned yesterday at Patagonia Lake State Park. He was the second person to drown at the popular recreation spot in eight days.
Chris Valenzuela was swimming with friends at the lake, about 10 miles north of Nogales, when he went under the water about 2 p.m., said Santa Cruz County Sheriff Antonio Estrada.
Estrada said the boy's feet may have been caught on something that held him under until friends could get to him and pull him to the surface.
"I think over five minutes transpired before they had done that," Estrada said. He said the boy was airlifted to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead about 5 p.m.
The boy was just outside a designated swimming area, Estrada said.
Park Ranger Monty Lambert said swimmers are not required to remain in the designated area along the lake's south shore.
Signs advise visitors that they swim at their own risk and that there are no life guards on duty, Lambert said.
Brian Angel Melendez-Perez, in his mid-20s, drowned June 25 at the lake as he tried to swim across it, Estrada said earlier.
Melendez-Perez, a Sierra Vista resident who was a contract worker in the supply field at Fort Huachuca, had gone to the lake with his wife. His body was found June 27 by divers.
Melendez-Perez's drowning was the first at the lake in about two years, Estrada said, adding there is a drowning there about once every two years.
He did not know why there have been two drownings so close together this year. "These things tend to go in cycles," the sheriff said.
Park manager David Pawlik said the benefits of staying in the swimming area are that it tends to be shallow enough for most people to walk in, it has a sandy beach and bottom, and boaters are prohibited from the area.

Ok, there is some strange stuffs going on w/a diaper wearing fetish site. For this reason, I'm now making this website along w/Zilya's password protected. It scares me to think of some sicko out there stealing pics of my babies for other purposes:
Read on to hear what I learned:
This is just sick!! read on!!
'm not sure where to put this, but I wanted to give everyone a heads up.
Apparently some sicko has been stealing pictures from WAHM sites, cd sites, family sites, sigs...etc and posting them on a website devoted to diaper fetishes.
There's a lot of info here, but you'll need to make a user name to read:
http://www.mothering.com/discussions/forumdisplay.php?f=345
I'm still in the midst of reading through the threads, but supposedly the FBI has been contacted reagarding this issue. Lots of moms are trying to figure out if their child's photos were used and there is a thread there where people are describing the children that they see on the site to see if anyone recognizes them.

Hello mommas Ok, if you've been over to Mothering you'll probably recognize my username. I'm going to try to fill in any questions you might have.
First, the diaper fetish site is: http:// yior.the-cobb.com/ (remove the space)
Do not link anybody to that site directly from this site (in PM's or otherwise) because the owner of the site (and anybody visiting the site) can see where his hits are coming from. So always C&P it.
The site is supposedly there to offer support to teenagers and adults that have to or want to wear diapers. I am certain that there are members of that board that visit for that reason, but I am also certain people visit that board for much more disturbing reasons. Of biggest concern to me is the fact that there are hundreds (if not thousands) of photos on that site that were stolen from forums, blogs, and online photo storage sites. The pictures depict mostly children in disposable diapers, but a great quantity (again in the hundreds) were of children in cloth diapers. The cloth diapering community is very close-knit, and together we were able to identify many, many children on the site. Parents are understandably outraged.
In response many parents have contacted the FBI and Nat'l Ctr for Missing and Exploited Children. Many local police departments have also been alerted and are investigating the site. This has been going on for almost a week now, and although progress seems slow, I am certain this site will be taken down. There are even national as well as local television stations that have picked up on this story. Bringing attention to this issue is so important to me personally. I did not find pictures of my daughter, but I will be haunted by the images of my dear friend's children for a long time.
If you wuld like to see if your children (they have everything from newborns-adults) are on the site it is becoming increasingly difficult. The owner of the site is not allowing new registrations (required to see pics) and it has been rumored that the pics have been moved to the "paid subscription" area. To get an idea of how they get these pictures all you have to do is read through the forums, it is quite disturbing.
I'll post again in a bit...baby needs attention right now I'd like to let you all know just how big a deal this can be. In the meantime, if you have pictures on sites like WebShots, please know that if they are not protected they are probably being looked at by many people. Protect your photos (by making them private, especially in blogs) and do not give them titles with keywords like "Diaper", "bathtime", "bedtime". It makes it very easy to do a search and find these images.
------------------------------
I've gone to that website, and right now there are not any pics being shown, I don't think. And hopefully they will be shut down. I don't share pics on other sites but it seems that they could be easily taken from here or zily's web.
The people on there really need some help, even if they are not hurting children and are just weirdo diaper wearers..
thanks for understanding. I hope you all continue to stop by and read the new stuff and view photos.
