Konor went Pee Pee on the Potty! Yesterday...!!!
Just a start in getting him ready for potty training!

This am I gave him another 'buzz' type hair cut. HE did much better and let me cut straight around his ears and the back... Shorter on top... He's too cute!

my poor ds, konor woke w/a fever @ 2:30.. 102.3.. gave him some tylenol... and ran out, @ 6:30 he was soo tired and talking nonsense..but that's not too unsual, lol... his fever was up to 102.7... if it reaches 103 i'm heading to pediatric ER (where my dd went to) I will check him again at 11pm... cross fingers it goes down!

Now I feel guilty as all get out for taking him over to my friends home daycare friday!

well, was later told by nurse friend, it couldn't have been from there, as most illnesses take 10days/incubation, so must have gotten from sarah carrying something from school..

anyway, Konor's fever broke, I just woke him @11pm and it was down to 101.5... whew.. hopefully continues to go dwn... poor thing!

konor's fever is down to 99.9 whew! he's still acting needy/spacy tho, and isn't eating too well. dh says he feels better today, but him along w/others at work have all said they just felt spacy, tired lately.. must be something weird going around..

Voice of Winnie the Pooh's Tigger dies
Paul Winchell also created voice for 'The Smurfs'

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Paul Winchell, a ventriloquist, inventor and children's TV show host best known for creating the lispy voice of Winnie the Pooh's animated friend Tigger, has died. He was 82.

Winchell died Friday morning in his sleep at his Moorpark home, Burt Du Brow, a television producer and close family friend, told the Los Angeles Times.

Over six decades, Winchell was a master ventriloquist -- bringing dummies Jerry Mahoney and Knucklehead Smiff to life on television -- and an inventor who held 30 patents, including one for an early artificial heart he built in 1963.

But he was perhaps best known for his work as the voice of the lovable tiger in animated versions of A.A. Milne's "Winnie the Pooh" -- with his trademark "T-I-double grrrr-R."

Winchell first voiced Tigger in 1968 for Disney's "Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day," which won an Academy Award for best animated short film, and continued to do so through 1999's "Winnie the Pooh: Seasons of Giving."

"I first met Walt Disney 25 or 30 years ago," Winchell recalled in a 1988 interview with The Associated Press. "He said, 'We're both in the same business. I use cartoons and you use dummies and we both entertain children.' That was long before I started working here. Walt gave me a VIP tour of the studio. I remember people doing voices. I said, 'Gee, that must be fun.' And here I am."

Winchell voiced memorable characters in numerous animated features over the years for Disney and Hanna Barbera. He was Gargamel in "The Smurfs," and Boomer in "The Fox and the Hound."

Winchell said he always tried to look for characteristics and idiosyncrasies in the voices he created. For Tigger, he created a slight lisp and a laugh. He credited his wife, who is British, for giving him the inspiration for Tigger's signature phrase: TTFN. TA-TA for now.

In 1974, he earned a Grammy for best children's recording with "The Most Wonderful Things About Tiggers" from the feature "Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too."

At the age of 13, Winchell was a winner on radio's "Amateur Hour" for doing his imitation of Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy. Ventriloquist Bergen was his childhood hero, and Winchell said one of the greatest thrills of his life was a joint appearance with Bergen on the game show "Masquerade Party."

Winchell made his television debut in 1947 with a smart-mouthed puppet he had invented in his early teens, and within a year was host of "The Bigelow Show." He was also host of a number of children's shows, including "The Paul Winchell-Jerry Mahoney Show" and "Circus Time."

In 1950, Winchell created Knucklehead Smiff and introduced him on "The Spiedel Show," which later became "What's My Name?"

Despite his success in television, Winchell felt the medium did not do justice to his beloved craft.

"Ventriloquism today is in a slump," he told the AP. "I think television defeats ventriloquism. Children are so used to seeing puppets that when they see a real ventriloquist they don't understand it. On television, everyone talks and they don't care about the mechanics."

Winchell's dummies are now at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington.

Winchell was born in New York City on December 21, 1922. He contracted polio at age six and overcame speech impediments as he learned to throw his own voice.

Winchell attended Columbia University and also studied and practiced acupuncture and hypnosis and became a prolific inventor.

He donated his early artificial heart to the University of Utah for research. Dr. Robert Jarvik and other researchers at the university went on to build an artificial heart, dubbed the Jarvik-7, which was implanted into patients after 1982.

Among Winchell's other patents: a disposable razor, a flameless cigarette lighter and an invisible garter belt.

Winchell is survived by his wife of 31 years, the former Jean Freeman; five children and three grandchildren.

I just got back. Took Konor and Zilya to my friends house @10am. Jennifer does home daycare. I know my sis woulda watched them, but this house has toys/kids for konor to interact w/Anyway, they said Konor had a blast, missed me for a lil bit, but that was all. Zilya didn't fuss for them once, just had one bottle and slept, and just woke when I arrived and she was in center of room in a bouncy.
I went and waited in line for an hour to get 2 of our car tags. Coulda/shoulda mailed in a check, but had to by the 20th and forgot. There were lots of kids in strollers, all fussing. I'm soo glad I was able to take mine somewhere for once! Then I met dh for lunch @ Ol' Heidleburg (german) It was nice.. a date!! LOL..... He wants to go to drive-in tonight but it's soo dang hot, over 90 w/heat index near 100. So, probably not.
Then I picked the kids back up @ 1pm. Konor was soo tired, fell asleep on way home and still napping. They tried to feed him lunch, but nope... I think I'm gonna do this every other friday. At least for konor, maybe zily sometimes too. She charges $5/hr per kid. So today was $30...

Well, got other stuff to do... have a great wknd to those who won't be back online!

They are closing down all the Winn Dixies! Man this stinks for us, cos there is one here on Oakwood that is fairly close that we do major shopping at. I love the deals we get w/their card too. Nxt tues we have to shop cos we got free steaks and a $25 off bill! Only other store is STar Market in 5pts. Dh loves it there, but for Konors food, not good for me. :( So, that leaves us going to Walmart on Sparkman or Target.. I hate Walmart w/a passion!
    -------
so,I did some driving this am. Takes about 7-8mins to go to Walmart or Kroger from our house, vs the 3.5mins to WD. But so I shopped at Kroger and signed up for the baby club. Ok, not the greatest area, but was highly impressed by the veg/vegan section! :) So, got some food for the step dds. And they had Zilya's formula there in bulk! So, looks like Kroger will be it for me

    A Different Child

    by Pandora Diane Waldron
    for Madoka Marietta Rosalie

People notice there's a special glow around you.
    You grow surrounded by love,
    never doubting you are wanted;
only look at the pride and joy in
    your mother and father's eyes.
And if sometimes between the smiles,
there's a trace of tears, one day you'll understand.
You'll understand there was once another child,
a different child, who was in their hopes and dreams.
That child will never out grow the baby clothes,
that child will never keep them up at night, in fact,
that child will never be any trouble at all.
Except sometimes, in a silent moment,
when mother and father miss so much that different child.
May hope and love wrap you warmly and may you learn
the lesson forever, how infinitely precious,
how infinitely fragile is this life on earth.
One day, as a young man or woman, you may see
another mother's tears, another father's silent grief,
then you, and you alone, will understand
    and offer the greatest comfort.
When all hope seems lost, you will tell them,
with great compassion, "I know how you feel.
I'm only here because my parents tried again

I haven't talked to my sister. I think it's too early to know if she is pg. I'm not even sure she icon_egg.gif yet. I think I'll call her later. I am actually crossing my fingers for her, even tho we've had our differences...

I'm all bit up, been busy planting more english ivy in my flower bed out front. Trying to use it for cover instead of the mulch/bark.

Today is my step dd's last day of summer school And she has been bugging to try the new veggie burger from burger king, so gonna stop and get her one b4 I get her. Mind you, I have not went to a BK since Kyla died as it was the place we went on the way home and she wanted "FF's" as she called them, but I didn't give them to her in car cos she broke her new sunglasses and I was mad. I still feel guilty for yelling at her. icon_sad.gif Anyway, it's weird, I know, but it's a HUGE step.... I had a burger there that day and got bad diareahha and that was why I was in the bathroom and she drown. icon_sad.gif I no longer eat any fast food burgers. I made a new website for her, well still working on it: Kyla

Zilya and Konor now sleeping, it's great they are getting on a schedule together. If I get that bumbo seat I'll be able to feed her in that and still feed Konor in high chair. I do have 2 boosters, one I keep in my van, and can move him to table when she gets big enough for high chair. I hate to get two high chairs, not much room, lol...

Well, better get back to work!

    I cried hot burning tears...

That stung my soul as they stung my cheeks.

I closed my eyes wishing I could close my ears

As those awful words were said...

Those evil cruel words that no one wanted to say...

Your child is gone....your child is no more.

But you are not gone, don't they know, for you are here

Right here in my broken aching heart.

And I cry hot burning tears...

That sting my soul as they sting my cheeks.

Zilya napping very well right now, on her tummy... She is getting a flat head and a nice bald spot in the back. I figure it can't hurt to put her on her tummy once in awhile for a nap, right?? I never did so w/my other two tho...

And, she slept almost 12hrs straight last nite! This going to bed earlier really does work!

konor is adjusting well.. for the most beginning part, he hardly noticed her existence, and would just crawl right over her! LOL.. he started to walk about 10days after she was born, in front of nanny and pap who were visiting. pretty cool...
he still ignores her, but does say, ahhh baaybeeee when she cries, and he's the 1st to get her to laugh. he puts her bottle, paci and whatever else in/out of her mouth.. so gotta really watch him w/her. this am he put his hat on her head. was too cute!!

he is speaking more words: ball, tree, booby(lol) car, light, pablo, amongst the ones he already says...

I lay in bed on a dark,
    stormy night
I drift off to sleep, my mind
    takes flight
    I dream of places far
    and near
I wish you could be here.

    I hear your voice and
    see your smile
    I wish it would last
    a little while
    I sometimes wonder if
    you ever knew...
That I lay in my bed,
    dreaming of you.

he apt went well. He too said no need to remove it right now. But had seen 2 case last yr where they turned into skin cancers, so does want it removed. He told me to come back when she was 1.5, 2yrs old. The mark on the back of her head is just a strawberry birth mark, Kyla had one too, and it disappeared by the time she was 2. So, that is a relief for now. I at least won't have to think about putting her under anesthesia for now.

I'm baaaack! yup, pc went down about a week ago. Had cable guy out, then went out again next nite. Was on phone for an hour w/knology, and we lost an IP address. Was told I could prolly just reinstall windows 98, and stuff and start from scratch. So, been making disks of picture cds and saving doc.s and moving stuff over to G drive, etc. Did some defragmenting, and stuff... I finally just rebooted today, and low and behold my aim came up, and I thought, hmm, I have to be conected then. so I click on my email, and 500+ emails start pouring thru!
Anyway, everything is good here. My dad is in town from PA, last wknd my friends were here from GA b4 they moved back to PA. So, been busy. Trying to catch up a lil now while kids and pappy are napping. I have tons of pics to share.
I've gone in to ck on Konor and sometimes he is just wide awake playing in his crib in the dark. And he lets me sleep till about 8:30 now. And, Zilya has been consistantly sleeping thru the nite too. She stays up pretty late tho. Till 9-11pm. Tonight I put her down asleep @ 7:30 and she woke at 9:30, but cooed quietly (listening thru monitor) till 10:30 and finally fussed for a bottle. She sometimes wakes about 6am, but will go back 2 sleep if I or dh puts a paci in.
Her GERD seems a lot better now too, no more spitting up, and the new formula seems to help as she is no longer taking like 40-50oz a day anymore.
Still got the plastic surgery issue to contend w/nxt wk tho(consultation) but not thinking of that right now.
It's just nice to feel myself again. Need to change my weight ticker as I been exercising more and finally losing again too!
